2010 Schillaci Stakes Nominations Announced

October 5th, 2010

The 2010 Schillaci Stakes nominations have been announced. Though Mic Mac is leading the handicapper rating, plenty of punters will be looking to Black Caviar in this Group 2, $200,000 event.

Black Caviar remains unbeaten after a trial run in late September, and has her eyes firmly set on the Schillaci Stakes title.

The Peter G Moody-trained mare is making her return to the track after being sidelined in January with a suspensory injury. The four-year-old mare remains unbeaten after a trial run in late September, and has her eyes firmly set on the Schillaci Stakes title. Plenty are hoping for a win from the classy mare as it could mean a showdown between her and other top runner Hay List in two upcoming events. Expect her to lead these horse racing odds once they are released later on this week.

Trainer Paul Messara will be hoping his five-year-old gelding Mic Mac can put a stop to Black Caviar’s reign. He too is showing promise ahead of this Group 2 event with a trial run win over a field of six in late September.

Other notable nominees include Lee Freedman’s First Command, Patrick Lee’s Good Control, and Danny O’Brien’s Star Witness.

The 2010 Schillaci Stakes is set to jump this Saturday, October 9 at Caulfield Racecourse. The day will also play host to the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas, Toorak Handicap, and Yalumba Stakes. Don’t forget to check out all of the odds on these races at Ladbrokes.com.au.
